Volunteer Chaplains

The Berrien County Sheriff's Department has a Chaplain Program.  There are currently nine active volunteer Chaplains participating in this county-wide program.  Sheriff Chaplains are licensed or ordained ministers who have undergone additional training to serve officers as well as members of Berrien County.  Our Chaplains may ride with a uniformed officer, but are always on call in the event of a tragedy.

Chaplains may be used for a variety of reasons, but some of the more common are for death notification.  Other reasons can include ceremonies, presentations, education, or simply listening.

Our Chaplains serve on a voluntary basis, and receive no compensation for their services.  However, donations toward training would be welcome.  Checks may be made out to BCSD Chaplians.

Please watch our Youtube video.
